Project index

Every entry across work, tools, objects, university and beyond, in one index rather than five. The categories above read across all of it, so a kind of work can be held across every section at once rather than one at a time.

  1. 01

    Parametric Earthworks Modelling

Parametric DesignEarthworks / Geotechnical 2026Earthworks volumes that recalculate the moment the geometry moves, benchmarked against Civil 3D, InfraWorks, OpenRoads and 12d Model. It is the only one of them that reads borehole logs and puts a number on how much rock sits above formation level before the price goes in.
  2. 02

    Topographic Prints

CartographyTerrain Visualisation 2026Shaded relief prints of New Zealand terrain, made from public LINZ elevation data and rendered in Blender. Sixteen plates, plus an 1880 geological map rebuilt over real terrain. On sale through Art Collective.
  3. 03

    CAD to GIS Workflow

GISData Automation 2025The workflow that took asset delivery on a major London infrastructure scheme from several weeks to the same day. CAD drawings in; schema-compliant GIS files, a live web map and attribute-driven 3D asset models out. Runner Up in the VINCI Group Innovation Awards.
  4. 04

    Design to Unreal Engine Pipeline

GIS3D Visualisation 2023A complete Unreal Engine world generated from geospatial and design data in under an hour, as native landscape rather than mesh, so collisions, splines and drive-throughs all behave. Visualisation stops being a one-off commission and becomes something worth re-running every time the design moves.
  5. 05

    A511

BIM CoordinationGIS 2026A bridge slide and culvert operation rehearsed in 4D before anyone breaks ground. LIDAR survey, temporary works layouts, utility runs and the construction programme sit in one model, with swept path analysis for every crane and 40ft truck that has to get on and off a constrained site.
  6. 06

    Drawing Checker Tool

Data AutomationQuality Assurance 2026Title block QA that most UK contractors still do by hand, done in FME instead. A 462-drawing package is read, validated against project-specific rules and reported pass or fail with error detail, in 2.8 seconds.
  7. 07

    GIS Process Guide

Standards / GovernanceISO 19650 2026The document that decides how spatial data is produced on every Taylor Woodrow project. ISO 19650 aligned, eight steps from CDE setup through to archive, named roles either side of a peer review gate. Authored solo, peer reviewed and formally approved as the company standard.
  8. 08

    Official Information Request Auditor

Workflow AutomationLLM Integration 2026An Official Information Act response start to finish without a person reading every email. A self-hosted n8n pipeline searches two inboxes, filters for relevance with an LLM, redacts third-party information, compiles the disclosure documents and logs an audit trail against each one.
  9. 09

    Pavement Quantity Tool

Earthworks / GeotechnicalComputational Design 2026Pavement quantity take-off straight from design surfaces, survey data and CAD layouts, with no corridor model to build first. Assessments that took days run in minutes and re-run as the design moves, the output has been reconciled against client figures, and a draft quantity report comes out of the same run.
  10. 10

    Public Data Scrape

GISAutomation 2026Draw a site boundary and get back a written constraints report. The workflow queries every public REST service covering the area, heritage through to gas infrastructure, and hands the features to an LLM, which also states which datasets it could not reach.
  11. 11

    The Public Record

Web DevelopmentInformation Design 2026A political accountability tracker for New Zealand where neutrality is enforced by the database and the interface rather than promised in an editorial policy. No colour carries meaning, no status uses loaded language, and right of reply is a constraint in the schema. Parliament from 2011 onward.
  12. 12

    Automated Document Compliance

Data AutomationQuality Assurance 2025Two FME workflows that audit an entire project document register: 17 information standards applied to every document in the CDE, then 13 further checks against the TIDPs. The first run flagged over 600 non-compliant documents, 100 duplicate TIDP entries and 3,000 unmatched codes, in under a minute.
  13. 13

    Meridian Water Strategic Infrastructure

GISAsset Management 2025The live deployment the CAD to GIS automation was built for. GIS asset delivery and document control on a major North London regeneration programme, part of the digital delivery that won TAYWOOD Engineering Digital Construction Team of the Year at the London Construction Awards 2025.
  14. 14

    Semi-Automated Retaining Walls

Parametric DesignComputational Design 2022The script that let a social housing team deliver in 3D on a fee quoted for 2D drawings. Wall type is chosen from height and design ground level, and concrete volume, price and embodied carbon travel with each wall object through Speckle into the federated model.
  15. 15

    Point Cloud Floor Plan Extraction

Point Cloud ProcessingAutomation 2021Floor plans pulled out of a building scan with a slider running from true as-built fidelity through to perfectly orthogonal geometry. Commercial scan-to-BIM tools make that decision for you at the point of extraction. This one leaves it as an input.
  16. 16

    Summer Research Scholarship

Robotic FabricationComputational Design 2021Three months of solo research putting plasma bonding on a robot arm to strengthen spatial 3D printing. Two test jigs and two torch holders designed for an ABB IRB 1200, bonding parameters characterised across three filaments, and TPU bonds that outperformed the strongest PLA bonds from the previous studies.
  17. 17

    GRAI

Product DesignHaptic Interfaces 2020A fingertip-worn device that lets a blind or low-vision user feel terrain by touch: a light sensor reads the greyscale value of an elevation map under the fingertip and drives a vibration motor in proportion to it, so height becomes something felt rather than seen. Built with a project partner and shaped by feedback from Low Vision New Zealand.
  18. 18

    Invert Shade

Computational DesignCNC Fabrication 2020A pendant shade pair cut as one flat piece and formed over a cylindrical frame, with a Grasshopper definition driving both the form and the organic cut-out pattern from a handful of sliders. Drawn for the Salone Satellite track at Milan's furniture fair.
  19. 19

    Company GIS Portal

GISPortal Development 2026A GIS portal homepage written by hand in HTML and CSS instead of assembled from an Experience Builder template, so it does not look like every other Esri portal, and curated so an engineer who has never opened GIS can still get something out of it.
  20. 20

    Healthy Eateries Map

GISAutomation 2026Four systems wired into one pipeline for a wellbeing week. Staff rate a restaurant in Microsoft Forms, a nightly FME job scores it, and an ArcGIS dashboard updates the map and the leaderboard. Used by 20 colleagues in its first week.
  21. 21

    Visser and Associates

Web DevelopmentFull-Stack Development 2026A full organisational website on Next.js and Vercel with no CMS to administer and no database bill: a provider directory served live from a Google Sheet through incremental static regeneration, an Apps Script booking system, form backends, crisis banners and a password-protected admin dashboard.
  22. 22

    Cottons Farm

GISAsset Management 2025Every asset in a school geolocated, from boilers down to first aid kits, fed live from the spreadsheet the client already kept. A Matterport walkthrough sits in the same interface, with each asset located in both views off a single record.
  23. 23

    Eco Park

BIM CoordinationAsset Information Management 2025Handover-ready BIM for Eco Park South: KKS asset codes embedded into Revit and IFC files where the underlying data was incomplete, and a federated model rebuilt across two Revit versions from files that did not line up with each other.
  24. 24

    Navarre Wind Farm

GISGeospatial Analysis 2024Lead geospatial resource on a proposed 400MW wind farm and battery storage hub of more than 100 turbines in Western Victoria, covering road alignments, 2D and 3D mapping and the client geoportal, on a toolchain that made layout options fast enough to genuinely optioneer.
  25. 25

    X-Frame

3D VisualisationProduct Rendering 2024Three jobs, one product: orthographic shots that show it clearly, cinematic build animations that show how it assembles, and photorealistic office renders that put it in a real space. Produced in Blender and live on the client's site.
  26. 26

    Wairarapa Line Capacity Upgrades

GISRail Corridor Modelling 2023Hundreds of corridor cross-sections produced from the model rather than drafted, and regenerated every time the design moved, on a model-first KiwiRail level crossing programme between Upper Hutt and Masterton.
  27. 27

    Automatic Wind Farm Road Network

Parametric DesignTerrain Analysis 2022The travelling salesman problem with a hillside attached. A Grasshopper tool that permits a road segment only where the ground grade allows one, then runs generative design through what is left, so the route across a 100-turbine wind farm comes back buildable rather than merely short.
  28. 28

New Zealand Offshore Wind Market Assessment

GISMarket/Site Assessment 2022Where New Zealand can take fixed-bottom and floating offshore wind, assembled from REST services and public datasets scattered across the country, with a separate Esri portal group maintained for each client working off the same national picture.
  29. 29

    Plimmerton Farm Stage One

GISAutomation 2022A 383 hectare subdivision of around 1,000 homes where two things did not scale: exporting more than 700 drawing sheets per issue, and finding anywhere to put the earthworks. Both became scripted, and disposal siting became an optimisation with a defensible answer.
  30. 30

    Te Rere Hau Wind Farm

GISData Management 2022Paper plans and GIS files for an 80 megawatt turbine upgrade pulled into one managed dataset, then handed back as a viewer the client could explore at their own pace, linking site photos, suitability reports and 3D fly- throughs.
  31. 31

    Arlington Street

Computational DesignBIM Coordination 2021Over 1.5 kilometres of retaining wall on a steep 1.8 hectare Wellington site, generated by script rather than modelled by hand, so 301 new homes could keep moving while the architecture above them was still changing.
  32. 32

    Parametric Cross-Section Tool

Parametric DesignPoint Cloud Processing 2021Cross-section sheets that regenerate rather than being rebuilt. A Grasshopper tool that slices any 3D geometry along an alignment and packages each section into a finished PDF with title block, legend and scale bar, without the geometry restrictions the standard section-view tools impose.
  33. 33

    ARATAKI

Brand StrategyAugmented Reality 2020A concept app that finds a nearby heritage site, then holds a phone up to it and shows what stood there through AR. Built for a 2020 brief on designing New Zealand's response to a collapse in tourism, using a real Wellington storytelling company as a brand reference point.
  34. 34

    Deja Beug

Product DesignCAD/CAM 2020A 3D-printed product business run single-handed for four years: design, manufacturing, branding, stock, sales and books. 502 orders and $31,227 in revenue to 445 customers, sold into retail stores throughout New Zealand, closed in 2024.
  35. 35

    Face Mask

Product DesignInterface Design 2020A handlebar-mounted device with a folding clear shield, designed against a 2020 brief for a speculative human-health interface. The working title is a misnomer the project's own title page already admitted to: nothing about it goes near a face.
  36. 36

    Nocturnal Flowers

Product DesignSoft Robotics 2020A 3D-printed flower that opens when a shadow falls across it: a light sensor triggers a peristaltic pump to inflate soft petal actuators, revealing the LED inside. The pump is the type used in medical infusion lines, so the bloom has a pulse rather than a sweep.
  37. 37

    UV-C Door Handle

Product DesignVisualisation 2020A self-sanitising door handle concept: a hidden UV-C light triggers for 30 seconds after each use, detected by a tilt sensor, in a form designed to disappear into a modern interior rather than read as medical equipment. Never built: the brief marked on the visualisation.
  38. 38

    Bench

Furniture DesignConstruction Detailing 2019A furniture module for the School of Architecture and Design atrium, built to a shared jointing and dimension standard so units from an entire cohort combine into one long bench. The interface was agreed before anyone designed anything.
  39. 39

    Chair Trap

Furniture DesignMechanism Design 2019A plywood chair built as a mechanism rather than a fixed form: sitting down drives a linked set of pin-jointed ribs that spread and close around the sitter. Nothing in it is rigid, so it has no settled shape until someone sits down.
  40. 40

    Eclipse

Product DesignLighting Design 2019A wall-mounted light built around its own switch: a black acrylic disc eclipses a ring of LEDs into a soft halo, and only a light touch on the plate reveals it is a switch at all. The light source is never visible, only what it throws.
  41. 41

    Forms

Form StudiesMaterials Exploration 2018Two first-year form studies: a rhythmic sequence of rotated triangular planes, then a piece built from a Fijian Kauri cube, a copper wire ring and curved translucent plastic, working through density, transition and openness by hand. The earliest work on this site.
