London Construction Awards

2025

Award

Digital Construction Team of the Year

For clear, practical use of BIM, drones, GIS and other tools, working closely with the client, upskilling the team, and delivering measurable benefits on the Meridian Water project.

Won by TAYWOOD Engineering, the digital engineering team Hamish works in, at the London Construction Awards on 26 September 2025. A team award rather than an individual one, judged across twenty categories in a year the organisers recorded as their largest field of entries. The GIS and asset delivery work the judges cite is the work described under Meridian Water.

Award

Digital and Data

VINCI Group Innovation Awards, Runner Up

Automating Asset Delivery, the CAD to GIS workflow.

The VINCI Group Innovation Awards run across the group's construction businesses. The CAD to GIS workflow was entered in the Digital and Data category and placed Runner Up. The internal assessment of the submission described the approach as new to the business, which is a judgement made inside VINCI rather than a claim about the wider industry. A stakeholder interview and a demonstration video were produced for the submission.

Award

Optimisation

VINCI Group Innovation Awards, Special Mention

The automated document compliance workflow.

A second entry in the same round, in the Optimisation category, for the two FME workflows that audit a project document register against its information standards. Shared with a colleague in information management, who is named alongside Hamish on the certificate.

Accreditation

Information Management Practitioner

Information management to ISO 19650.

Certified 8 February 2026. ISO 19650 is the standard the GIS Process Guide is written against, and the one the document compliance workflows test a project register for, so the credential and the work it applies to are both on this site.

Taylor Woodrow

2025

Award

Excellence

Value Award, Excellence

For initiative and innovative thinking in digital delivery, leading automation of workflows and GIS asset management for Meridian Water, and integrating emerging technologies into practical solutions.

Taylor Woodrow's internal recognition against its five stated values. This one was given under Excellence, in the London business unit.

2025

Award

Best Case Study

The Meridian Water CAD to GIS automation case study.

Given to the written case study rather than to the workflow it documents, at the TAYWOOD 2025 away day. The distinction is worth keeping: the award is for explaining the work well enough that other teams could take it up, which is the same argument the tool itself is built on.

Role

Innovation Leader

A standing remit to move new ideas from concept through trial to business case and into project delivery, and to connect the people working on them across projects and regions.

An internal Taylor Woodrow appointment held alongside project and technical delivery. It is not a prize and not an industry title: Hamish was asked to take it on rather than applying for it. The role description sets measurable deliverables: at least two ideas coordinated to trial phase each year, and at least one supported through to business case and implementation on a project.

Each record above is taken from the certificate, press release or role description issued at the time. Where an award went to a team rather than to a person, the row says so.
